  • Mouthpiece PEP is a useful tool to promote independence in treatment for a child
  • Each routine is different and will be developed by the hospital physiotherapist
  • Posture is important when using a PEP device
  • Mouthpiece PEP can be combined inhalation therapy for hypertonic saline or normal saline
  • Cleaning after each use is recommended.
  • If your client experiences increased shortness of breath, severe chest pain, or coughs up any blood (haemoptysis) during treatment, stop the session, contact CFWA and encourage your client to contact their care team for further advice.
