Hand hygiene guidelines

As a community support worker hand hygiene should be performed in the following situations:

  • Before putting on PPE (including gloves)
  • Before and after touching a client, their equipment or their surroundings
  • After removal of PPE
  • After you have been to the toilet
  • After coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose
  • Before and after touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Before and after touching your phone or personal belongings
